ramblings: up your kilt

We've been in Northern Scotland for a little over four months now and I am finally feeling relatively content with my decision to quit my job and move across the pond (it took that long). I'm getting used to the pace of my new life (being unemployed, useless and without real hobbies), the abundance of drunks in such a small radius, and best of all, when people give me funny looks at the grocery store, I laugh to myself instead of wanting to pummel someone in the face. Damn American accent!

Yes, the UK has grown on me and I no longer want to cry in the corner or throw myself out the flat window, but this country is just so painstakingly inefficient and odd sometimes it makes me want to scream.
